A SCHOOL in the Vale is now a sea of gold after youngsters were involved in a mass planting of daffodil bulbs.

Children at Pebworth First School have been joining in with the Royal Horticultural Society's ''Growing for Gold'' campaign to help celebrate 50 years of the Britain in Bloom.

All the children were involved with the mass planting of bulbs in tubs and around the school grounds and are now enjoying the fruits of their labour.

Tracey Lamb, School Garden Co-ordinator who works voluntary with the children in the gardens, said: "This started last year when the school was donated sacks of daffodils by Adam Mould, of Evesham Garden Centre.

"After the Easter holidays, the children will continue this celebration as they plant sunflower seeds, received from the Royal Horticultural Society."
