THERE are just a few days left to register for voting in the local and European elections, taking place next month.
Wychavon District Council have had people out and about in Evesham town centre in order to raise awareness of the elections, on Thursday, May 22, and on Saturday they held a drop in session focusing on groups who do not traditionally register, including young voters and EU citizens.
Tom Piotrowski, Worcestershire Migration and Integration in Rural Areas project coordinator, said: "Being registered to vote in both the local and European elections provides an excellent opportunity for influencing local policy. But it is also an indicator of how closely residents want to engage with local community issues."
The surgery was organised in partnership with Evesham Town Council, which is keen to ensure the market town’s residents understand and partake in local issues.
The deadline to register is Tuesday, May 6. For more information contact 01386 565437 or email elections@wychavon.gov.uk.
