PEOPLE can take a look behind the scenes at Snowshill Manor as it opens its doors for an exclusive one-day tour.

The National Trust Property near Broadway is opening its doors on Tuesday at 1.45pm so visitors can experience the Manor and Garden as they are when closed to the public.

The manor and garden are the creation of Charles Paget Wade, who was passionate about traditional skills and design.

He began a curious collection of unusual and interesting objects as a young child, creating an extraordinary ‘Aladdin’s Cave’ of unexpected delights.

His vision was not to create a museum, but somewhere people could come and explore craftsmanship in an intimate way. Gosia Rumsey, Marketing Officer at Snowshill, said: "Charles Wade enjoyed inviting friends and showing them his collection.

"This is the only such tour we’re running this year, and it’s just how Mr Wade’s guests might have seen the Manor and Garden."

Led by one of Snowshill’s most experienced volunteer guides, the tour will be followed by a cream tea served on vintage china in the Restaurant.

Tickets are £20 per person for the whole afternoon and the shop will be open.

Advance booking is essential on 01386 852410 as places are strictly limited. For details visit nationaltrust.org.uk/snowshillmanor.
