MALVERN-based musician John Denton launches his debut album, entitled Jupiter and the Crescent Moon, at the Marr's Bar, Pierpont Street, Worcester, on Sunday (May 11) backed by the Midnight Band.

John has brought together nearly 50 years of experience in the music business to produce a set of songs that draw on his rock and blues roots but are infused with Jazz and Soul influences, too.

The collection showcases his talents as a singer, songwriter and guitarist.

John's career began in the mid-60s near Bletchley Park when he was the bassist in a touring band call the Addix, before he went on to form the award-winning UK All Stars in the 70s which morphed into the JD Blues Band in the 80s.

From the 90s he joined Birmingham band 7:17 Blues as singer and lead guitarist.

Doors open at 1pm and tickets are £3 in advance or £5 on the door.
