THE Prime Minister David Cameron has praised a new book celebrating business in Wychavon.

The Grow in Wychavon book promotes innovative local businesses in the district and has been backed by West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin.

Now following a launch of the book at the Houses of Parliament earlier this year, hosted by Mrs Baldwin, the Prime Minister has written thanking her for her work on the initiative and praising the book.

In his letter he says: "I am writing to thank you for sending me a copy of Grow in Wychavon, along with a goodie-bag of local produce.

"It is great to hear about how innovative businesses are succeeding in the West Worcestershire area. Small and medium sized businesses are key, especially in rural areas of the country, for our future prosperity and economic recover.

"I was most interested to hear all about the event you recently organised in Parliament. The goodie-bag was also much appreciated, and is a great example of British produce. The football shirt is great - it may even encourage me to keep up my fitness regime!

"Thank you, once again, for your kind gifts and well done for all you are doing to support businesses in Worcestershire."

The local MP said she was delighted with the response.

"I was keen to make sure the Prime Minister got a copy of the book and also some of the lovely produce that was on offer during the event," said Mrs Baldwin.

"More than 30 business took the time to come and visit Parliament and they got to talk to MPs about why Wychavon is a great place to do business.

"I am delighted by this response from Number 10 and I look forward to filling him about the campaign in due course.

"I hope someone spots the PM in his Growers FC football shirt, which we also presented to him, as he goes on his morning jogs this summer.”
