A MAN was punched in the face and his car stolen during a robbery and assault in Stourport.
The victim, a 29-year-old man, was punched in the face, and pinned to the floor, before his car keys were taken off him and his car, a burgundy Fiat Punto, was stolen during the incident on Friday, May 9.
The victim and the offender, who are known to each other, encountered each other in Warwick Street and the victim was then followed into Lorne Street.
The offender caught up with the victim in an area of Lorne Street where there are garages either side, where he demanded money, assaulted the victim and then took his car keys.
It happened at about 3.30pm and there were parents around, collecting children from school.
The victim was seen by a paramedic but was not seriously injured.
The vehicle was recovered in nearby Manor Road. A 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of robbery and released on police bail, pending further inquiries.
