FOR the first time in two years, people can catch a glimpse into the past and present of a Vale village in a weekend of entertainment.

Beckford, near Evesham, is opening its gardens to visitors on Saturday, May 31and Sunday, June 1 along with the 12th century Church of St John the Baptist which will be decorated with flowers.

Other attractions include a plant sale, steam engines, a model church, classic cars and a vintage Airstream caravan, a vintage radio collection, local crafts sale and historic photo exhibition.

Visitors can also enjoy a tombola, tennis and croquet along with the opportunity to visit the showroom of Beckford Silk.

David Carvill, a member of the organising Committee, said: “This is a rare opportunity to catch a glimpse of village life in Beckford, past and present.

"Everyone is working hard to raise funds for the essential maintenance of our beautiful village church.”

Tickets are £5 which includes admission to the open gardens and access to all the attractions.
