AN elderly man who was airlifted to hospital after collapsing on a golf course near Pershore is said to be making a good recovery.
The 83-year-old man was reported to be suffering chest pains when he collapsed at the Vale Golf and Country Club on Thursday, May 15.
The Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance were called to the scene at the request of the West Midlands Ambulance Service, due to the lack of road access to the patient, at about 2.50pm and arrived 15 minutes later.
The crew assisted the ambulance service in providing life support to the patient. He was then immobilised before being airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.
Simon Williams, club house manager at the Vale Golf and Country Club, said: "I spoke to one of his friends yesterday and he is recovering well.
"I would like to add the speed and response from the Emergency services was phenomenal. We had a first responder on site in under ten minutes, shortly followed by paramedics.
"Then finally due to the location of the incident the Air ambulance arrived again shortly after."
