THE winner of a competition to guess the number of printer cartridges recycled in a month by an Evesham business has been presented with a giant Easter Egg.

Cartridge World in Merstow Green in Evesham challenged its customers to guess how many printer cartridges they recycled in March to highlight the importance of recycling.

The store place a container of empty cartridges in its window, which was representative of the amount and asked people to take a punt.

Penny Jones, from Cartridge World, said: "It was a great competition, well supported and especially good when parents came in with children to whom we could demonstrate the importance of recycling.

"It’s worth considering this figure multiplied by 12 gives you in excess of 7,500 cartridges saved from going into our landfill in a year.

"The total number of cartridges recycled in March was 630. Congratulations to the competition winner Ali Adlkish of Abbey Motors in Abbey Road, Evesham, whose guess of 650 was the closest."

Mr Adlkish was presented with the prize of a 1kg easter egg. He added: "I always use Cartridge World for my business printers and whilst in the shop thought I would have a go.

"I didn’t think I would be close to the right answer let alone win. I am delighted but the chocolate won’t last long when my mechanics see it."
