STUDENTS and staff at Pershore College raised hundreds of pounds for Macmillan Cancer Support when they held a charity football match on campus.
The level one horticultural and arboriculture students, aged 16 to 18, all wanted to raise money for a charity and chose Macmillan after a group vote.
They decided to take on the staff at the college in a game of five-a-side football and began promoting the event and raising money.
Louise Badham, technical academy manager, said they all took on a different role and were given a much needed helping hand from local businesses who offered their support.
"We were lucky enough to have three local businesses support the match and they sent in cheques, we would like to thank them for their support.
"The games were very competitive and our student ref Matt Hillier did a good job keeping them in order, lots of people came to watch and support and after the match we had tea and biscuits in the hall.
"They raised over £240 and I am very proud of what they have achieved."
