A PUPIL from Offenham First School has won a competition to name the new David Wilson Homes development in the Vale village.
Chestnut Grange was the winning entry from nine-year-old Isobel Wright, who was inspired by the conkers she used to collect in the park when she and her family lived in the village.
She said: "It’s really exciting to have my idea chosen for the development. I can’t wait to see the signs go up."
Mum Sue Wright added: "We’re really pleased for Isobel that her name was selected. Offenham is a lovely village and it still feels like home, so it’s nice that we will have a lasting connection."
She beat a host of class mates to be the victor and took home a prize of gift vouchers, whilst her school also benefitted from book tokens.
Denise Oates, headteacher at Offenham Primary School, said: "It’s great that the community has been able to have a hand in the naming of the new development."
