CHILDREN from Elmley Castle CofE First School stepped back in time when they experience a World War 2 evacuation day.
The youngsters arrived at school dressed in typical 1940s clothes before embarking on a steam train journey on the Severn Valley Railway.
They then spent the day learning about the Digging for Victory campaign and how it helped the nations's people from starving.
Teacher, Lee Poultney, said: "The children have really enjoyed the war topic and showed great enthusiasm for the day.
"We had a really enjoyable day and learned lots."
The school is holding two open days in coming weeks with the first taking place on Thursday (June 12) from 9.30am to 11.30 and between 1.30pm to 2.45pm.
The second will take place on Thursday, July 10, starting at 1.30pm until 3.30pm.
