CHILDREN at Pebworth First School now have another location for outdoor learning with the opening of a new polytunnel.

The school held an event to officially open the new equipment, which was funded with a grant from the Global Gathering Windfall Trust applied for by Pebworth in Bloom.

The event was attended by members of the Pebworth in Bloom committee and other local people who work closely and support the school.

Children from Year 5 and those who attend the weekly gardening club served tea and homemade rhubarb cake to the guests.

The cutting of the ribbon was done by James Lamb, Bethan Prescott, Caitlin Prescott and Alex O'Grady, children whose families helped with the construction of the poly tunnel.

Parent volunteer Tracey Lamb said: “We are exceedingly grateful to Pebworth in Bloom for applying to the Global Gathering windfall fund for this grant.

"We can now grow a wider range of plants and teach in an outdoor environment all year round.”
