A GROUP known for staging one of Worcester’s favourite amateur pantomimes is already limbering up for next year.

Kays Theatre Group presented Cinderella in January and the amateur dramatic society stages its 61st production, Babes in the Wood, at the Swan Theatre, Worcester, from Friday, January 16 to Sunday, January 25 2015.

The majority of the major acting and singing roles have already been decided at audition but that is not the only cause for celebration.

The group presented £3,000 to John Bawden, the chairman of St Richard's Hospice, after the sum was raised by generous members and audience raffles during the 60th anniversary production of Cinderella.

While Ray Needham, Sue Cassidy, Debbie Lane, Sue Evans and Sue Sanderson were awarded NODA (National Operatic and Dramatic Association) medals in recognition of their service to Kays Theatre Group, presented by the group's joint presidents, Chris Cassidy and Pat Milton.
