EVESHAM High School is taking the health and fitness of its pupils seriously this summer - to a military level.

With funding from Wychavon Borough Council the school has invited Xtreme Boot Camps in for military style training and education.

On Thursday Xtreme set up the playing fields to put pupils through their paces.

James Evans, co-founder of Xtreme Boot Camps, said: “The students really enjoyed the taster session and the more they come the more they will learn.

"It’s not just about learning new fitness techniques and physical strength but the importance of nutrition and building mental fitness, which will help with exams. As well as School boot camps we also run a youth camp in the summer holidays."

Xtreme instructors create fun circuits with ropes and tyres for students to complete within an hour.

Craig Stephens, head of PE at Evesham High School, added: “The instructors have been fabulous with the pupils, pushing them hard in a fun and friendly manner.

"The pupils have really engaged with the methods that have been used and the improvement to their overall fitness methods will be extremely beneficial.”

Xtreme Boot Camps are running a three day summer youth camp from July 28 to 30 specifically geared for adventure seeking 12 to 15 year olds.
