THE village of Offenham came together and enjoyed a host of family festivities for its traditional Wake Week.
Kicking off on June 8 with a picnic and fun day, the community enjoyed a rounders tournament last Thursday ahead of Wake Day on Saturday.
This year's Wake Queen, Olivia Radburn who was crowned on May Day, attended a flower service in the church before the posies were taken to residents of Cedar Lodge care home.
She then led a procession to the Maypole with her attendants to officially open the Wake and traditional street fair with entertainment from Mr Doo the clown and the Offenham Lady Maypole Dancers.
People also enjoyed a treasure hunt, a Bellboat Regatta and a duck race the following day.
Julie Blackbrough, committee member, said several hundred people turned out for the festivities.
"It went very well, it was a very busy day," she said. "They are always very good, we always have a good event. It was as good as ever. It brings the village together, it gets everybody involved from children to older people.
"We've had lots of lovely comments from people in the village and out of the village who thoroughly enjoyed it."
