A RENOWNED crime writer is coming to Evesham this weekend as the town's first AsparaWriting Festival comes to a close.

Organisers are hoping to go out with a bang with Simon Brett, who is leading a workshop from 10am to 4pm tomorrow (Friday) at The Evesham Hotel’s Mulberry Room.

The creator creator of the BBC sitcom 'After Henry' will talk about how to get ideas out of your head and on to the page and all aspiring writers are encouraged to join him.

Then later he is giving the talk ‘Tickled to Death’ from 7pm at All Saints’ Church before the festival finale on Saturday from 5.30pm at Evesham Library.

The winners of the short story competition will be announced followed by the launch of AsparaWriting book.

Mr Brett will be joined by fellow author, Michael Jecks, as well as the Mayor and town councillors along with Gus.
