PEACE, who formed at Worcester Sixth Form College, are on course to score a top 40 hit with their latest single.

Brothers Harry and Samuel Koisser, Douglas Castle and Dom Boyce entered the midweek Official Singles Chart at number 40 with Money, released on Columbia Records and recorded with Jim Abiss.

It is the band's first piece of new music to be named a single and they debuted the track at two sell-out shows at London's Shepherds Bush Empire at the end of last year.

Harry said: "I wrote Money at some point last year whilst trying to write a song about anything but myself. I realised I wasn't born into it and I still don't have it and as a song it just seemed to work.

"It's not negative, bitter or whingey. I just feel like this year I got a ticket to the circus and I'm trying to decide if I'm a lion or a clown.”

Last year, Peace established themselves as one of the UK’s most important young bands, with the release of their debut album, In Love, regular touring and frequent appearances in NME, the world’s longest-running music weekly.

During their time in Worcester, the band was known as November and the Criminal and before venturing to Birmingham, Doug and Dom attended Bishop Perowne CE College, while Sam and Harry went to Droitwich Spa High School and Nunnery Wood High School.
