STUDENTS at Evesham schools were given the drive to pursue a career in design and technology when they were visited by manufacturers Aston Martin.

Youngsters studying the subject at Evesham High School, and some from Simon De Montfort Middle School, received a visit from the prestigious car manufacturers and got the chance to check out an Aston Martin parked outside.

James Cox, sports centre and co premises manager, said: "Two engineers visited design and technology students from Year 9 and 10 and a selection of students from Simon De Montfort Middle School.

"They were treated to a fascinating presentation covering the history of the company and careers in design and manufacturing. Students were given a question and answer session and opportunities to win Aston Martin merchandise.

"Events like this help to contextualise the work that students are doing in class and will inspire some to consider a career in design.

"It was a fantastic afternoon capped off by being able to see an Aston Martin Vanquish parked in the school car park."
