FUNDRAISERS from a Vale farm shop are celebrating after they raised thousands of pounds for Cancer Research UK.

Ellenden Farmshop, in Harvington, has held a range of events over the past 12 months and raised £3,431.69 for the charity.

Many of the events the shop held have supported different teams taking part in this year's Relay for Life in Evesham.

Sara Turner, who owns the farm shop, said: "The Boozers relay team first approached us about hosting a barn dance in our barn. We welcomed the idea, and with the help of local Evesham family business, the Outdoor Pig Company who put on a hog roast the event raised £1,093.48.

"After the success of this event, the team approached us about a second event in June. This event was even more successful, raising £1,838.21."

The farmshop then held its annual summer open day, which saw people visiting to enjoy tractor and trailer rides and watch farm demonstrations.

"We asked people to donate money for Cancer Research UK,"added Mrs Turner. "In addition another relay team, "Adele's all stars", also had a stand at our open day and in total we raised £500.

"So I am very proud that events held at Ellenden Farm 2013 to 2014 have raised a total of £3,431.69 for Cancer Research UK."
