IT'S set to be another busy weekend in the Vale as events take place in and around Evesham.

On Saturday in the Bredon Hill village of Overbury there will be a street market, featuring two hours from 10am of refreshments and live music.

Across the weekend on both Saturday and Sunday from 11am until 5pm the Fladbury Festival and Walkabout will be taking place in the centre of the village.

There will be open gardens, a flower festival, boat trips, stalls, classic cars, music, Morris Dancers and children's activities.

Broadway will also be bustling as Broadfest takes place on the village green from 1pm until 11pm on Saturday and Sunday between 10am and 8pm.

During the weekend there will be up to 60 food stalls with celebrity chef demonstrations and more than 25 acts will showcase their talents alongside up and coming performers from the Cotswolds.

In Evesham's Vine Mews on Sunday between 2pm and 4pm there will be the Dog's Dinner, an event raising money for the Dogs Trust.

The Evesham 10K will also take place this Sunday as will the the annual River Festival.

Most of the festival events will take place on Saturday with a duck race taking place on Sunday morning.

On Saturday there will be a group of 14 Newfoundland dogs doing displays, alongside a fly by display at 2.30pm from a Dakota plane.

There will also be a scrap heap raft challenge along the river and local bands performing in Workman Gardens.

In the evening the highlight of the festival will be the illuminated parade of boats, which begins at 10pm, and sees about 20 boats following the theme of famous boats and ships putting on a fantastic light show along the river, ending in a firework display.

Dirk Payne, organiser, said: "We have got a few different things going on this year and we are trying to build it up and improve every year.

"Last year was good and this time we are trying to keep that up."
