AN archaeologist from Worcestershire will be telling people about his work and what he has done with Channel 4's Time Team at the Hive later this month.

Rob Hedge, who works for Worcestershire County Council's Archive and Archaeology Service, will be talking about his work on Thursday, July 24.

He is currently a community archaeologist, working with schools, local groups and societies, and has previous worked in a variety of archaeological roles around the country.

Worcestershire County Councillor Lucy Hodgson, Cabinet Member for Localism and Communities, said: "This is another brilliant opportunity for residents to find out about the interesting work of the Archive and Archaeology Service. Rob will be telling people about his life and current role from day-to-day digging to investigating some of the amazing sites filmed for the popular 'Time Team' show."

The free event has been organised as part of Worcestershire's contribution to the Festival of British Archaeology which runs from July 12-27.

Mr Hedge will also answer questions from visitors after the talk which takes place in The Studio at The Hive at 7pm.

Anyone wishing to attend needs to book a place by calling 01905 766352, emailing explorethepast@worcestershire.gov.uk or by visiting the Explore the Past desk on level 2 at The Hive.
