A SIXTH form student from Alcester is gaining valuable work experience thanks to an Evesham-based public relations firm.

Samantha Remfry, aged 17, who attends Alcester Grammar School Sixth Form, joined Quicksilver PR for a week-long hands on placement to gain an insight into the world of marketing communications.

With a strong interest in PR and marketing, Samantha will gain a range of new skills and see first-hand the workings of a busy PR consultancy.

She hopes to take the skills gained with her into higher education studies at university.

Quicksilver PR communications director, Mark Symington said: “I’m delighted to have Samantha with us.  She’s already getting stuck in with some press release writing and talking with editors about potential news story and feature opportunities.

“I’m hoping Samantha will carry forward what she learns from her week with us into a future career in public relations.

“Over the years, we have helped a number of young people with work experience, hopefully gaining some valuable skills and understanding of PR.”
