HELP is at hand in Evesham for anyone who feels left behind by the modern computer revolution.

Evesham Age UK is to host computer surgeries for anyone baffled by the web, perplexed by PCs or nervous about emails.

The first session, free to anyone aged 55 and over, will start at the Vine Street centre on , Friday August 1, and sessions will then take place regularly, on the first Friday of every month.

Half hour appointments can be booked between 2pm and 5pm.

Evesham Age UK spokesman, Stuart McGoo said: "The surgery aims to help older people, new to computers or regular users, to drop in for minor repairs and software solutions, tips and advice on which software and hardware to buy, how to manage your computer files, virus removal, getting to grips with Windows XP/7/8, how to use different bits of software, such as setting up Skype, recording mp3s and setting up an ipod, digital photo editing software and loads more.

"Whatever the problem, we aim to help."

He added: "The appointments are free to all people over 55, but users of the service are invited to make an optional donation, if they so wish."

Appointments can be booked by calling 01386 422700, or in person at the Evesham Access Centre during opening hours, Monday to Friday 9.30am - 1.30pm
