GREYHOUND Rescue West of England volunteers will be out to raise awareness of a very special campaign named New Life in Pershore on Saturday.

The awareness events aim to show how rescue dogs can begin a new life, and how adaptable the older home seekers can be.

Events co-ordinator Jenny Cranton said: "But the campaign has had an unexpected twist. A few weeks back, we took in a lurcher who had been set to become another stray put to sleep in a UK dog pound.

"The dog, named Cienna arrived with GRWE and promptly gave birth to nine pups."

GRWE say they are now diverting funds from their appeal towards preparing the youngsters for their new lives.

The volunteers will be at Asda in Pershore from 10am until 4pm.
