AN 18-year-old woman was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries after crashing into a tree near Evesham this afternoon.
The crash happened in Shinehill Lane, South Littleton at about 4.20pm.
An ambulance, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham attended the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews arrived to find a car that had left the road and been in collision with a tree. The car had suffered substantial damage.
“The teenager driving the car, a girl believed to be 18 years old suffered serious head injuries and was unconscious.
“She received emergency treatment at the scene and her condition was stabilised. The girl was airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Major Trauma Unit for further emergency treatment. A trauma team were awaiting her arrival.
“Unfortunately, the girl's injuries were considered life threatening.”
