POLICE are seeking witnesses after a man was seriously injured outside a pub in Droitwich.

The victim suffered severe head and facial injuries in the attack and was rushed to the Walsgrave Hospital in Coventry for treatment.

The attack happened at about 12.40am on Sunday, July 27, outside the Star and Garter pub on the junction of High Street, Friar Street and St Andrews Road.

The victim, aged 42, was standing outside the pub when a heated discussion began. He was knocked to the ground unconscious and possibly assaulted further.

A number of people were believed to be present at the time. Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the assault, in particular a family with children who passed the scene.
