THE Pershore Carnival presentation evening and annual general meeting saw hundreds of pounds presented to the Midlands Air Ambulance and Acorns Children's Hospice.

The event was held on Monday, July 21, at Pershore Sports Club and certificates were presented to those who took part in the procession.

Cheques were given to the two chosen charities, who received all the money collected during the procession.

The total collection was £1,771.68 so £885.84 went to each charity.

After the presentations Colin Shepherd was appointed again as chairman for next year, and the rest of last year's committee were also re-elected, with the edition of two new committee members.

The first committee meeting will take place on Monday, September 15.

The committee would like to hear from any local charities who would like to be considered to benefit from the street collection of the 2015 Carnival.
