VILLAGERS will go head to head in a battle to see who can produce the juiciest tomato or the largest pumpkin at this year's Childswickham Village Fete and Flower Show.

The traditional fete takes place on Saturday, August 23, and will be full of fun and laughter with a healthy dash of community spirit.

There will be a family dog show alongside the sports day events, a duck race, homegrown fruit, vegetable and produce competition, and a bouncy castle.

Organisers are also hoping people will have a search through their cupboards for the white elephant, second hand book and tombola stalls, which are ready to start collecting.

The event will get underway at 2pm at the Church of St Mary in Childswickham with the flower festival continuing through August 24 and 25.
