AN Evesham widow, whose husband died of a pancreatic cancer, is hoping to fill the Regal cinema later this year in a bid to raise money to fight the disease.

Sandra Francis lost Pete in December 2012, the year after he was diagnosed with the disease.

Since then the grandmother has been fund raising for the Pancreatic Cancer Charity.

Her latest endeavour sees the Regal Cinema in Evesham's Port Street screening the classic love story, Dirty Dancing, in a bid to help Mrs Francis raise money.

The special showing of the film, which stars Patrick Swayze, who also lost his life to pancreatic cancer, will raise hundreds of pounds for the charity if all 280 seats are filled.

Mrs Francis said anyone who like to come along to the showing on Tuesday, September 30, between 10am and 12.30pm, is welcome to call her to buy a ticket, costing £5, on 01386 47840.
