VALE villagers have welcomed further improvements to their village hall.

The Great Comberton Village Hall has been the centre of much work in recent years including the fitting of a new disabled toilet, a new kitchen, a new roof, lined and insulated walls, double glazing, air to air heating, eco friendly lighting, a new boiler and a reconstructed external toilet.

Its latest project sees the installation of sound absorbing panels and an induction loop with low level microphones at a total cost of around £4,500.

The project has been funded by grants of £1,500 from Wychavon District Council, £950 from Great Comberton Social Club and £2,000 from community and environmental charity Welcome to our Future through the Severn Waste Environmental Fund. This fund receives financial contributions from county waste management contractor, Severn Waste Services, under the Landfill Communities Fund.

Colin Cummins, committee chairman said the latest improvements would make the hall even more user friendly and he is hoping it will encourage greater use of the lovely hall, particularly by people with hearing impairments.
