AFTER nearly 20 years of trading The Bait Box on Evesham High Street, is looking to maintain and strengthen its reputation as a traditional family run fishing tackle shop.

Behind the doors of the shop lies two decades of fishing experience, which owners Jo and David Packwood are eager to share.

And after a particularly hard winter the couple want to encourage people to tap into their knowledge and say they are eager to help, whether this leads to a sale or not.

“If we don’t know, we know somebody who does,” said Mr Packwood as he emphasised the lengths The Bait Box aims to go to for its customers.

“We encourage feedback so if we have helped a customer to discover a new fishing venue, to catch a new species or set a new personal best record, we are interested and excited to hear their stories and see their photographs.

“We can then pass this information on to other people."

The shop itself caters for all aspects of fishing and offers a rod, reel and pole repair service.

And this month to thank their customers a number of great deals are available in store.

"After surviving the hardest winder since we started 20 years ago due to the weather and the bridge closure we would like to say a special thank you to our customers, both old and new," added Mr Packwood.

"We are holding a special August Bank Holiday sale. On Saturday, August 23, there will be special deals through the weekend on the rods, lines, floats and luggage. Call in for details."

The Bait Box, located at 122 High Street, near the railway station, is open from 8am until 5pm from Monday to Thursday, from 8am to 5.30pm on Friday and Saturday and Sunday between 8am and 10.30am.

There is free parking to the side of the building.

The business also welcomes telephone sales and is happy to give advice over the phone if the customer is unable to visit the shop.
