POLICE have been carrying out a string of raids in Evesham and Droitwich as they make arrests, seize drugs and confiscate cash.

One of the drugs warrants in Droitwich by West Mercia Police on Monday involved breaching a door using a chainsaw by specialist Task Force officers but more work is underway.

South Worcestershire's superintendent Mark Travis said: "We are targeting activity in Evesham to send a message to those engaged in criminality. It is quite simple - we will pursue criminals with determination when they detract from people's quality of life. This operation has recovered property, drugs and money. Taking assets away from criminals is really important."

He said the public could expect to see more activity from the police. He added: "I would like to thank the public for their support, please provide us with the information to make your community as safe as we can."

More information is expected to be released by West Mercia Police on their work shortly. Those who suspect criminal activity, including drugs, can contact West Mercia Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
