A MAN was taken to hospital with a broken arm after a "vicious and sustained" armed assault in Worcester.

Police are looking for witnesses following an alleged serious assault on a 57-year-old man from the Home Meadow area of the city.

The incident, which occurred at around 11:45pm on Friday,August 8, happened after the man confronted three other men on White Hill, who are believed to have been damaging vehicles.

The victim was then subjected to what is believed to be a sustained attack including the use of a weapon, thought to be a pole or a stick.

The victim sustained a broken right arm and facial injuries, requiring hospital treatment.

The attackers fled the scene towards Otley Close.

One of them is described as a white man, aged around 25, athletic build, about six foot tall, fair to ginger coloured cropped hair and clean shaven. He was wearing a dark blue t-shirt with red writing across the front.

Another is described as a white man, aged around 25, athletic build, about 5 foot 11 inches tall, with short cropped hair. He was wearing a dark blue or black baseball cap, a pale grey/blue t-shirt, dark baggy jogging bottoms and pale grey or dirty trainers with two stripes on the side.

The third is described as a white man, aged around 25, athletic build, about 5 foot 11 inches tall with short cropped hair. He was wearing blue denim jeans.

Detective Sergeant David Hall said: “This was a particularly vicious and sustained attack on a man who was trying to protect his property and the property of his neighbours.

"We would be keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or who recognises the three men matching the descriptions.

“Attacks of this severity are unusual and this is why it is important that we catch the men involved.”

Police have issued CCTV footage of three men they would like to talk to in connection to the incident.

Anyone with any information should call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident number 0001S of August 9.

Let's hope they get caught and sentenced appropriately.
Brave little scum bags when in a group, hitting a guy with a weapon who's nearly 60 years old.

I've lived in Bevere for more than 15 years and have never heard of either White Hill or Home Meadow, WN you need to make your articles a little more descriptive if us local folk are to catch these toe rags.

I agree they must just be tough guys for three of them to attack one man.
But they don't just need jail they also need a good beating themselves, perhaps administered by martial arts experts or the SAS. Then and only then will they understand the pain / hurt they inflict on others when mob handed. COWARDS.

On Google maps, White Hill is approx. 300 metres west of Tesco Warndon; it is a typical pleasant leafy backwater on a modern estate.

This incident is an uncomfortable reminder that sometimes "discretion is the better part of valour".

Although where would we all be if we all did as the cowardly Falstaff?

It would appear that this 57 year-old man was very brave in confronting these three young men.

I hope his neighbours express their respect that he had the courage to investigate what was occurring outside their homes.

yes your right . this 'softly softly' approach is used quite often , even by the police I think . Look where it gets us . we shouldn't even be having this conversation . there's obviously little deterrent for such attacks . If they are caught no doubt they'll be 'full of remorse ' for their actions .

Now if this was Saudi Arabia (Jeddah) and we had Sharia Law (this will have all the bleeding heart Liberals shouting from the rooftops!!) then on sentencing they could expect to be either flogged in public of have their hands chopped off. Of course the weak liberals will be shouting for someone to do something but when someone does the Liberals will then question whether the punishment is right or not but still moan and whinge regardless. A good flogging in public, strapped up against Elgars statue would do the trick!!!
