TODDLERS from a local nursery will be enjoying some fun with residents of a Pershore care home when they are guests at its summer fete.

People from the local community are invited along to Heathlands Residential Care Home in Pershore’s Station Road on Friday, August 29, between 11am and 4pm.

Two to four-year-olds from neighbouring Stepping Stones Day Nursery will enjoy a teddy bear’s tea party with the residents of the Sanctuary Care Home in the morning.

There will outdoor games throughout the day, a variety show with entertainer Kim Letheridge performing hits from across the decades, plus a traditional ice cream trike in the afternoon, a cake stall and sandpits, bunting and flags galore.

For a small charge there will be also be a fish and chip lunch, with refreshments available throughout the day.

Anita Fletcher, Heathlands manager, said: “Our residents love welcoming people from the local community into their home and are really looking forward to celebrating the summer with new and familiar faces at our fete.”

All the money raised on the day will go towards the home’s residents’ activities fund, which pays for trips and other activities for the residents to enjoy.
