TWO antenatal teachers have donated £100 in a bid to help improve maternity environments in the county’s acute hospitals.

Helen Hunt and Jo Lederer run the worcester-antenatal.co.uk and worcester-postnatal.co.uk websites, which offer a one-stop shop for expecting women and new mums.

The sites provide women with information about local classes, support and workshops.

To raise money for the hospitals the pair decided to donate £1 for every new like they received on their Facebook page and within just a few days they had reached 100 new likes.

The money has been donated to the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust's improving birth environments fund, which aims to improve how women and their families across the county experience maternity services during and after their pregnancy.

Karen Kokoska, deputy divisional director of nursing and midwifery for women and children, said: "This donation will make such a difference to families in our care. It's so generous of Helen and Jo to give us this money."

Ms Hunt said "Our websites aim to help women in Worcestershire make the most of their pregnancies. This donation will help our local hospitals provide the very best care for these women."
