PROCEEDS from a popular local celebration of the arts are being offered up to help aspiring artists with their studies.

The Broadway Arts Festival Trust, which organises the biennial arts festival, has a surplus of funds and has decided to offer grants to arts students in the local area.

Students living in the parish of Broadway with a WR12 postcode who are studying at undergraduate or postgraduate level in an arts subject can apply for grants to assist with further education costs for courses beginning this September.

The grants are awarded on a yearly basis and are decided upon by the trust.

Last year, 20 year old Chloe Williams, who is currently studying Textiles at Loughborough University, applied for a grant and received a £500 funding package.

She is encouraging others to apply for the same opportunity this year.

“The grant is a really good opportunity as it helped to fund expensive materials, books and museum visits all of which helped me to produce pretty much all of my projects for my course over the last year. I am definitely going to be applying again.”

Miss Williams, who previously attended Chipping Campden School, said: “I can’t thank the trust enough for the grant, it’s so generous of them and I’m really grateful.”

To apply for a grant, an application form can be downloaded from broadwayartsfestival.com and must be submitted by noon on Wednesday, September 3.
