In the WN most definitely. This site is full of nonsense like this. Shed on fire in Droitwich. Window smashed in Malvern. Pot plants stolen from garden in Hallow. Any real news is buried near the bottom but I usually don't get that far down the page after 15 nibs from the police and fire brigade...

I bet they were pavement parked, inconsiderately obscuring the pavement for pedestrians and other road users and damaging the footpath surface which is isn't built to spec for taking the weight of motor vehicles.

People are so scared of their cars being damaged by parking them properly on the road. In reality, most cars have steering wheels, and drivers use the steering wheel to manoeuvre their vehicles around parked cars. The irony is, by parking on the pavement you cause a nuisance for pedestrians, those with buggies, wheelchairs etc. and that's how you get your wing mirrors smashed off - by disgruntled pedestrians not cars!

Pavement parking is clearly forbidden in the highway code but rarely (if ever) is this enforced.

There is someone who whacks wing mirrors on Albert Park Road quite regularly, whether parked on the road or pavement.

What they are doing is an act of vandalism, which I think you will find is a criminal act - unlike parking selfishly.

I agree it's barely newsworthy though.
