A DEVELOPER will be unveiling plans to build new homes in the shadow of the Malvern Hills this week.

The Oxford-based Kler Group is hosting an informal drop-in event on Tuesday, September 2, for residents of Upper Welland to discuss its proposals.

The company is hoping to build the homes in a field on the south side of Upper Welland Road, just to the west of its junction with Chase Road, Malvern.

The meeting is at Upper Welland Methodist Church in Upper Welland Road, between 3pm and 8.30pm.

The company says that details of the proposals will be on show, with members of staff on hand to answer queries from members of the public and hear their views.

Kler Developments was last year involved with controversial plans to build 50 homes at Lawn Farm, Drake Street Welland. The application was approved on appeal after Malvern Hills District Council turned it down.

A planning application by a different developer, Pridays Mill Developments Ltd of Worcester, to build 30 houses at another site in Drake Street remains undetermined by Malvern Hills District Council.

Both these applications gave attracted strong opposition from local residents.

This week, despite a number of phone calls, no-one from the Kler Group could be reached for comment about the latest plan.
