A WOMAN was assaulted while out jogging in Evesham this morning.
The victim was jogging along the riverbank between Abbey Bridge and Evesham Rowing Club at about 7.15am when she was approached by a man who grabbed and assaulted her.
She managed to run off and escape the attacker, who is described as white, in his early 20s, clean shaven and was said to be “expressionless” with a thin and gaunt face.
He was wearing a grey hooded top pulled tightly over his face and dark denim jeans and was carrying a fishing rod.
Detective Sergeant Kate Stevens has appealed to anyone who may have been in the area at the time to contact her.
“We are taking this assault very seriously and wish to speak to anyone who may have seen a man of this description in the area this morning,” she said.
“We particularly wish to speak to a woman who was walking a Jack Russell dog prior to the incident who may have vital information to share.”
