A national touring theatre company is stopping off in Bewdley as part of its journey around the UK.

Riding Lights Theatre Company is bringing its new show, Fantastic Acts, to St George’s Hall on Tuesday, November 11.

Formed in York more than 30 years ago, the company’s aim is to create entertaining, comedic theatre in response to current issues as well as the hopes and fears of the world.

Its roots are in a Christian ethos, but members say their work is open to everyone, using faith as a springboard to explore various aspects of life.

Their latest show gives the company’s unique take on the Bible's book of Acts.

The story features a woman called Julia who wants to get away from the constant pressure of work, but after leaving work behind she discovers something that goes beyond switching off.

With extraordinary stories, random acts of kindness, blindness and divineness, Julia hopes that the people of the book of Acts can help her find what she’s looking for.

The company has taken part in regular tours of new and devised work and has performed at a network of non-theatre venues across the country, attracting large audiences.

Riding Lights also specialise in providing theatre for young people, including annual Christmas tours for children and their families.

Tickets to the latest show, which starts at 7.30pm, cost £10 and can be bought from the company's box office by calling 01904 613000.
