WORCESTER City manager Carl Heeley believes it won’t be long before George Williams earns a move into the professional game.

City’s reigning player-of-the-season continues to impress following a series of stellar displays this term, including in the 2-1 victory over Leamington at Aggborough on Saturday.

The 21-year-old right-back joined Worcester from Loughborough University in the summer of 2013 and has become one of the team’s hottest properties.

Heeley said: “You actually feel sorry for the wingers he plays against because he’s got incredible energy levels and he’ll just run for as long as you want him to run for.

“He’s a good defender but he’s a major attacking threat for us as well and he’s just getting better and better. It’s only a matter of time before he plays higher.”

Graham Hutchison is another who continues to catch the eye with the former Birmingham City centre-half, who has made 19 starts this season, scoring his first goal of the season in the win over the Brakes.

Heeley said: “Graham has come on in leaps and bounds from last season, as an individual and as a player. He’s learning the game more and I’m delighted to see him get on the scoresheet.”

However, despite heaping plaudits on his players, the Worcester boss reckons his team could still be more potent in front of goal.

After failing to score in four of their first seven matches, City have now scored in each of their last 10, including at least two in eight of them.

During that period, Sean Geddes has netted five times, while Nick Wright has scored twice alongside two each for Daniel Nti and Ellis Deeney.

But Heeley said: “I still think we could do better. If you look at the Coventry game, we created lots of chances and there are going to be times when we need to be clinical and take those chances.

“There’s a massive improvement and we’re happy with that but I still think we could do better.”
