CONNOISEURS of food and drink will be licking their lips at the prospect of the immense range of food and drink, both local and international, on offer at the Worcester Victorian Christmas Fayre.

Now in its 22nd year, the fayre, recently placed in a list of top 16 Christmas fayres in the country by the Daily Mirror, has a longstanding reputation for, not only promoting the best of local produce, but bringing the culinary delights of the continent and beyond to the streets of Worcester.

From artisan breads and pastries from the continent, to local cheeses, jams, and cider produced in the heart of England, there is enough to tickle the taste buds of every food lover during the course of the fayre, running from Thursday, (November 27) to Sunday, (November 30).

Local favourites, Checketts of Ombersley, will be located in Friar Street, selling the best of local cheese, pâté, and homemade meat products for those who prefer the traditional Christmas offerings that would have been a staple part of every Victorian Christmas feast.

After their immense popularity last year, Emily's Jams and Pickles are returning to the fayre again, with jams, marmalades, mustards, chutneys, oils and dressings, all made from the finest ingredients that the local area has to offer.

For those tempted to try a more contemporary twist, Chilli Zoo have got a variety of chilli infused delights for you to sink your teeth into, including jams, relishes, oil and chocolate.

A selection of drinks will also be on offer including ciders, local perries, presses and cordials, fruit wines, mulled wines, sloe gins and cherry brandies.

Giving the fayre a decisively German flavour will be Simon's Sausage and Brockworth Sausage, both selling a range of Bratwurst Sausages for those looking to go for an international Hot Dog while Churtopia and Chesters Restauraunt have a range of fiery flavours from Spain and Mexico.

Down the road in Friar Street is the Cardinal's Hat, Worcester's oldest pub, which will be open across the entire Fayre, accompanied with a range of music fitting for a Victorian era Christmas party.

Be sure to check out the food and drink on offer but remember there will also be activities, a fair ground and great stalls jam packed with gifts and goodies for the whole family.
