EIGHT junior canoeists successfully completed their three star White Water Kayak award in some challenging Worcestershire waters.

In early November the group of junior paddlers, many with some good rivers under their belt, including the Lower Tryweryn, Dee and the Usk, proved their ability and performed well on the river Teme.

Prior to their assessment one of the club senior coaches, Adam Hall, put them through their paces, practicing strokes, river running skills and a series of exercises to ensure they were all more than ready.

The assessment was run by another of the clubs senior coaches, Clive Pearson, and an external assessor, Mark Thompson.

Wychavon Kayak & Canoe Club Chair, Caroline Attwood-Reusser, said: "They have all worked really hard and deserve this award, they are a really great bunch and get on extremely well.

"We put a plan in place to help them achieve this and saw it through. The whole club is very proud of their achievements and the hard work, they and the coaches have put in."
