THE Christmas spirit will come to the Worcestershire County Museum at Hartlebury Castle, with festive events over two weekends.

Rachel Robinson, Museum Manager said: "Christmas is all about enjoying spending time with family members and the County Museum offers the perfect atmosphere for some traditional festive fun."

The popular annual event 'Christmas at the Castle' will be taking place this year on Saturdays and Sundays, on the dates December 7, 13 and 14, from 11am-5pm each day.

One of the highlights of the day will be a chance to meet Santa in his Winter Wonderland grotto.

Visitors can also meet characters from' A Christmas Carol' and children will be able to dress up, grab a prop and join in with a live action reading of the story.

Children can take part in a variety of craft activities including making Christmas decorations and 3D Christmas trees. There will also be face-painting and children can also write a letter to Santa.

In the Victorian Scullery visitors can assist the castle's housemaid with Christmas preparations including making pomanders and stirring the Christmas pudding.

Adults can take time to browse the gift and craft fair in the Great Hall and there will be entertainment from local choirs and musical groups.

The Castle Kitchen Café will also be offering a variety of homemade seasonal meals and snacks, including mulled wine and mince pies.

Admission to the museum costs £5 for adults and £2.50 for children and concessions. The £13 family ticket is for two adults and two children.
