WORCESTER City manager Carl Heeley described Sean Geddes' “rabona” goal as the best he has ever seen.

The forward scored two spectacular second-half strikes at Aggborough as City booked their place in today’s FA Trophy first round draw.

“Geddes’ first goal is probably the best goal I’ve ever seen,” Heeley said.

“It was unbelievable and just shows the confidence because to make those things come off you need confidence to try it and he’s done that.”

He added: “We’re flying at the moment and we can’t seem to do anything wrong. It’s all built on a work ethic and togetherness of the squad and when we’ve had tough times those qualities were always there.

“When you get that bit of confidence and belief and get on a roll it snowballs. It was another convincing win and a super performance.

“The easiest thing to do after beating Coventry would have been to get distracted and the performances suffer a result.

“It’s a great attribute if you can keep focusing on the next game and that’s always been our philosophy. It’s been put to the test in this situation and they’ve come through with flying colours.

“I heard things like would Barrow be focused on it because of promotion but they were beaten by a better side.”

Shabir Khan, starting his first game of the season, also hailed Geddes but claimed such exploits were commonplace for the forward.

The defender said: “It’s strange because a lot of people watching the game won’t believe what they saw but, as players, when you see him in training and the things he does with the ball it’s no surprise to us.

“But it is nice to see him put it into practice in the games as well because he does those type of things in training. The free-kick was superb as well but the first goal, you’re not going to see many like that.”
