A COTSWOLD pub has been celebrating after keeping hold of its second AA rosette for food for the fourth year running.

The Ebrington Arms in Chipping Campden was awarded the second rosette in 2011 and so was delighted to have maintained its high standards through the arrival of a new head chef.

Jonny Mills, head chef, has been at the Ebrington Arms for more than a year and is wowing the area with his cooking.

The Ebrington Arms is full for food on New Years Eve but has some spaces for the Christmas menu, which is running alongside the main menu up until Christmas Eve.

This will be followed up in January with a special frugal menu to tempt people out in the new year.

Owners Claire and Jim Alexander said: "We're so chuffed to have maintained our second rosette for fours years now because it shows consistency and quality. We've got the best team ever and are really proud of them."

The couple also run the Killingworth Castle in Oxfordshire, which has been adding a sixth award to its mantelpiece as it won Pub of the Year 2014.

It was presented with the award by the Oxford Mail newspaper for establishments covering the whole of the county.

The village pub in Wootton by Woodstock, was reopened in December 2012 after decades of neglect under Green King Brewery ownership and was completely refurbished to make it the multiple award-winning status it enjoys today.

The pub took on stiff competition from the whole of the county to come out on top.

Mrs Alexander said: "Huge well done to our great team and lovely bunch of supporting locals and regulars who drive from Oxford and all over.

"It is so rewarding to be called the best pub in Oxfordshire, wow. And it’s especially rewarding to get these rewards in a difficult climate because pubs are for life, not just Christmas."
