TENNIS star Danny Sapsford shared rallies with a special guest as Pershore's Indoor Tennis Club turned on its floodlights for the first time.

The Davis Cup star and West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin served up aces at the illuminated tennis centre, to join in the celebrations after the club secured funding for the LED lighting system.

MP Baldwin officially switched on the lights before hitting balls with the Great Britain player, who runs children's charity Bright Ideas for Tennis- a charity which encourages young people to play sport.

The MP said: "Pershore Indoor Tennis Centre is a fabulous resource for local people and it was great fun to have a knockabout with a former Davis Cup player.

“As a tennis fan myself, it was great to see so many people gathered together to celebrate the sport and I was keen to congratulate the club’s members for raising the money to give local people a state-of-the-art facility."

Danny is set to play tennis for 24 hours to raise funds for his charity.
