STAFF and pupils at the Fort Royal Community Primary in Worcester are drawing up a "wish list", to decide how best to spend a £1000 windfall and enhance learning.

The primary is celebrating a "triple whammy" of generosity, with the Independent Fundraisers of Worcester, their sponsors Westlands Hyundai and sister company Westlands Toyota presenting the school with a big cheque.

Now it is up to the school to decide how best to spend the money on educational items.

Margaret Jones, Grants Administrator for Fort Royal Community Primary School said, "Every year we ask teachers in the school to put forward a list of items they need to help the children enjoy their education experience and this has to be funded.

"This donation will contribute considerably to some of the items required and we offer a big thank you to Westlands Motor Group and Independent Fundraisers but also to the people of Worcester for their generosity".

The fund-raising campaign started in December with an Independent Fundraiser "Santa Collection" outside The Guildhall in Worcester.

This was quickly followed by a further Santa collection in Hyundai's showroom at Hallow. Both events collected £500 for the school.

In tandem with the two events, Westlands Toyota Worcester were introduced to the school, and an invite was offered to participate in Toyota's Dream Car Competition.

The children of Fort Royal produced their interpretation of their dream car that included an edible steering wheel, table and chairs and wheelchair access along with a host of other items on their wish list.

To reward the children's efforts, Westlands Toyota Worcester donated £500 to the school.

Miriam Wale, Group Marketing Manager, Westlands Motor Group said "We were delighted with the efforts made by the children and the level of innovation in their submission. Westlands Motor Group is only too pleased to support the School and the efforts of Independent Fundraisers of Worcester".
