FOR the first time in its history, the Vale Connection Ladies Choir has three generations in its ranks and a fourth learning the ropes.
Following an article about the work of the choir in last week's Journal, lots of ladies went along to the meeting and one new recruit came all the way from South Wales.
The choir learned a new piece for the evening: "Senzenina" (Xhosa/Zulu "What have we done" A South African song sung in four part harmony and originally sung as an anti-apartheid song.
Joining in was Caroline Kear, who sang with her daughter and former music teacher, Catherine Walne-Pennington and grand-daughter, Lottie Pennington who is drum teacher. Lottie's daughter, Poppy, is a chorister, or drummer of the future.
Vale Conenction supports local charities and this year it is celebrating its 21st birthday.
Details of future events and information about the choir is available on the Vale Connection website.
